Little Giant Free Cabernet Sauvignon (6pk)
More about Little Giant Find a stockist Grape Variety: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: McLaren Vale
Winemaker: Cory Ryan & Mike Brown Closure: Cork Alcohol: 14% Pack Size: 6 Bottle Pack Summary: The southern hairy-nose wombat is smaller than other wombats but is stocky, robust and the proud state emblem of South Australia. Like the might of the little wombat, Little Giant is crafted from premium regional South Australian fruit from established vineyards that deliver character and interest well above their size and weight. Little Giant gets a natural and organic makeover thanks to some authentic lo-fi winemaking. The wines are the result of a collaboration between McLaren Vale winemaker Mike Brown and Corey Ryan of Little Giant – the wines are exclusively sourced from a single estate vineyard in McLaren Vale. These are fresh, immediately drinkable, deliciously food friendly wines that are the essence of one of South Australia’s favourite wine regions.
Winemaking: Sourced from a single site vineyard in McLaren Vale that is both organic and biodynamic. Picked in the cool of the morning to retain freshness, the fruit is de-stemming and fermented in stainless steel tank. The wine then spent time in used large format French and American oak barrels to build structure whilst softening the palate and develop flavour complexity without overt extraction of oak characters.
Vintage 2022: A La Nina season brought much welcomed rain over the winter months and continued in providing a mild spring and summer. The cooler than average weather during harvest resulted in a longer ripening period and facilitated an outstanding flavour and tannin balance and wines with balanced natural acidity. Tasting Note: There’s no mistaking this is Cabernet, so completely varietal. Aromatically fresh with vibrant blackcurrant with hints of sage and rosemary and an interesting herbal edge. Concentrated dark berry fruit complemented by seductive spice and intense fruit concentration on the long finish with great depth of flavour. Perfect to drink now or cellar confidently for 5+ years. The results saw not just great quality fruit but yields were up too. A great vintage for the Vale.

Captivating aromatics that capture vibrant and jubey raspberry jam with just a hint of savoury complexity and gentle earthiness.
