Elephant In The Room 'Mid Strength' Half Pinot Gris (6pk)
More about Elephant In The Room Find a stockist Grape Variety: Pinot Gris Summary: The Elephant in the Room wines are proudly large in scale and expansive in flavour. Created to deliver full bodied and mouth-filling wines, Elephant in the Room gives consumers what they want- quality, flavour and something to talk about. Each wine is sourced from slow-ripening cool climate vineyards and partially matured in French Oak before final blending and bottling by Corey Ryan. Winemaking: Picked in the cool of the morning to maintain freshness and vitality. Fermented solely in stainless steel with a short time on lees contact for additional subtle nuance and texture whilst maintaining the ultra-important flavour and freshness. A small component of the blend is cool distilled whilst another undergoes ultra-membrane filtration. With very gentle handling, these components are masterfully blending back into the original parcel of wine to arrive at a well-integrated, lighter finished ABV. 2023 Vintage: The winter and spring prior to the 2023 vintage was generally a little wetter and cooler than what is usual, delaying the start of vintage and meaning some extra care was required through the growing period. Whilst the vintage was indeed later than usual, there were some beautiful parcels of fruit that benefited from being grown in sites where the slower ripening simply enabled flavour ripeness to be achieved with character & balance. Tasting Note: Clear, with yellow hues. On the nose you’ll find ripe varietal fruit flavours of ripe pear, white florals and citrus with green leaf and spice. A beautifully lifted and expressive wine with mouth-filling flavours that finish crisp and fresh. A wonderful all-rounder with it’s lighter alcohol becomes a brilliant luncheon wine to partner many fresh cuisines. The below information is available for stockists of this product. Each wine is sourced from slow-ripening cool climate vineyards and partially matured in French Oak before final blending and bottling by Corey Ryan. A small component of the blend is cool distilled whilst another undergoes ultra-membrane filtration. With very gentle handling, these components are masterfully blending back into the original parcel of wine to arrive at a well-integrated, lighter finished ABV. Fuzzy Bare Fuzzy Bare Pinot Gris Piquette (6pk)
Region: Australia Grape Variety: Pinot Gris Winemaker: Aaron Mercer Alcohol: 4.0%
Summary: Organically grown, no additives, vegan and moderate in alcohol 'Fuzzy Bare' is the new kid on the block- fizzy, fun and ready to drink! Despite being the newest hottest kid on the block, piquette dates to ancient Greek and Roman times. It enjoyed a renaissance in the 19th century when phylloxera decimated French vineyards, making grapes so scarce every ounce of the precious fruit was used. Made from adding water to bare pressed grape skins and left to ferment, this low-alcohol, refreshing, and slightly fizzy drink Was named ‘piquette’ (prickle) and became the standard for vineyard workers at the lunch table. Winemaking: Made using the left over skins that have been pressed off from Slinky Bare and CowPunk wines. Water is added to the press where it is left for 12 hours to interact with the skins. The solution is then pressed to tank and the residual sugar fermented out to dryness Tasting Note: Aromatics of red berries and blood orange. The palate is loaded with fresh cut strawberries and sherbet that combine with a green apple acid line to make a beautifully refreshing naturally lower in alcohol beverage. Little Giant 'Mid-Strength' Barossa Shiraz (6pk)
More about Little Giant Find a stockist Grape Variety: Shiraz
Region: Barossa Valley
Winemaker: Corey Ryan
Closure: Screwcap Alcohol: 7% Pack Size: 6 Bottle Pack Summary: The southern hairy-nose wombat is smaller than other wombats but is stocky, robust and the proud state emblem of South Australia. Like the might of the little wombat, Little Giant is crafted from premium regional South Australian fruit from established vineyards that deliver character and interest well above their size and weight. Hand-crafted and made with minimal additions and preservatives, these are wines made of the vineyard. The grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, minimally handled in the winery and fruit vibrancy is not hidden by non-essential artifact. Seeking first and foremost fruit expression, drinkability and to be a great accompaniment to food. Don’t let the size fool you, these are wines you’ll want to drink. Winemaking: Little Giant Shiraz is crafted from fruit sourced from select premium vineyards of both the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. Picked in the cool of the morning to retain freshness, the fruit is de-stemming and fermented in stainless steel tanks. A small component of the blend is cool distilled whilst another undergoes ultra-membrane filtration. With very gentle handling, these components are masterfully blending back into the original parcel of wine to arrive at a well-integrated, lighter finished ABV. The wine post fermentation & blending spends the following three months maturing in stainless steel and 25% in second-use oak before bottling. Vintage 2021: One of the best vintages in the last decade for the Barossa in 2021 with vignerons ecstatic with the quality of the fruit. Good rainfall over winter ensured the soil retained moisture over the early part of the growing season. A warm - but not ridiculously hot - Summer followed with dry conditions ensuring an even ripening all the way up to harvest. A vintage that will be celebrated in the region. Tasting Note: The Little Giant Shiraz continues to be the favourite in the Wombat family. The wine displays more elegance and lift than previous vintages though the cooler Eden Valley fruit adds aromatic lift, interest, and freshness. This is a contemporary Barossa Shiraz having spent maturation time in older oak adding subtle vanilla and chocolate nuances. There’s softness on the finish and with its moderate alcohol is perfect for the luncheon occasion to partner many red meat cuisines or a Sunday BBQ!
