Elephant In The Room Fiano (6pk)
More about Elephant In The Room Find a stockist Grape Variety: 100% Fiano
Region: Wine of Australia
Winemaker: Corey Ryan
Closure: Screwcap
Alcohol: 13%
Pack Size: 6 Bottle Pack
Summary: The Elephant in the Room wines are proudly large in scale and expansive in flavour. Ignoring fashion and braving the scorn “wine thought police” Elephant in the Room was created to give wine loving consumers exactly what they want – full flavoured and mouth-filling wines that deliver maximum pleasure. Each wine is sourced from premium slow-ripening cool climate vineyards across South Australia by Corey Ryan. Vineyards: Sourced from established vineyards in the cooler southern coastal region that is perfectly situated to experience consistent temperatures from closer proximity to the ocean and avoiding the heat of neighbouring inland South Australian regions. Winemaking: Picked in the cool of the morning to maintain freshness and vitality. Fermented solely in stainless steel with a short time on lees contact for additional subtle nuance and texture whilst maintaining the ultra-important flavour and freshness. Vinified without excessive handling to enable the fruit to be as expressive as possible. 2023 Vintage: The winter and spring prior to the 2023 vintage was generally a little wetter and cooler than what is usual, delaying the start of vintage and meaning some extra care was required through the growing period. Whilst the vintage was indeed later than usual, there were some really beautiful parcels of fruit that benefited from being grown in sites where the slower ripening simply enabled flavour ripeness to be achieved with character & balance. Tasting Note: Clear, ripe and flavour-filled with a mouth-filling texture. This is a classic Fiano wine with citrus and floral scents that flow similarly to the palate along with mineral and chalk in a densely rich yet fresh white wine. Fiano is perfectly suited to the Australian climate, it will be perfect on its own and can accompany many cuisines such as BBQ white fish and fresh summer salads. Vintage 2021: The 2021 vintage although low in crops the quality level is the highest growers have seen in a long time! There is great excitement building around the 2021 vintage. Low level of crops due to some small hail event early in the season, the rest of the season was dry with no disease pressure resulting in beautifully ripe and clean wines. Tasting Note: Slightly opaque with yellow hues and a captivating nose of citrus, stonefruits and toasted almonds. The palate delivers a rounded mouthfeel of bright peach fruit with secondary nutty notes and minerality providing length on the finish. Fine but persistent acidity draws out the long finish. Maretti Soave Classico (6pk)
More about Maretti Find a stockist Region: Veneto Summary: Soave is a small commune in Veneto, part of the province of Verona. The region’s high altitude and cool climate create an elegant expression of Soave, imparted with mineral complexity by the stony soil. Soave is most commonly described as a dry white made from the Gargenega variety. This wine is from the Classico designation: indicating wines produced in the heartland of the Soave region around the sloping vineyards of Verona. Winemaking: Sourced from vineyards in the hills of the classico area northe east of Verona. A soft pressing followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature. Fermented in stainless steel with temperature control before maturation on lees for six months to build texture and complexity. 2020 Vintage: Winter was unusually dry and warm in the region. These conditions accelerated the grapes and around April, early-ripening varieties began budding. The cold returned with lots of rain and heavy snow in the mountains. This instability lasted through May, which saw low temperatures. This slowed the growth cycle down and flowering took place in early June. July saw scorching temperatures but luckily, temperatures dropped overnight. Overall, ripening went well, but quantities were down about 20%. Tasting Note: Pale yellow in colour with a vital fruity aroma. This is vibrant with stonefruit and citrus, with hints of almond, marzipan and spice. The palate rewards with an unctuous and filling mouthfeel with a slightly salty minerality. It’s full of bright fruit flavours and balanced by fine acidity ensuring a good match for a seafood risotto. The below information is available for stockists of this product.
