"The Australian name for the Syrah grape, widely used elsewhere, and therefore a name better known by consumers than its Rhone original. Becuase Australian Shiraz has been so successful in European markets, the word Shiraz has been used on wine labels for Syrah grown all over the world...”

Black Barrel Shiraz (12pk)
More about Black Barrel Find a stockist
Region: Barossa Grape Variety: Shiraz Winemaker: Nicholas Crampton and Corey Ryan Alcohol: 14.5% Winemaking: Fruit from low yielding, old-vine Barossa vineyards, vinified in small open fermenters and hand plunged before partial maturation in three hundred litre, high toast barrels for six months. Vintage 2024: Below-average winter and spring rainfall in the Barossa Valley meant vines had to work hard early in the growing season. Budburst began in September—about three weeks earlier than in previous years. However, frosts in September and October caused significant damage to some vineyards, reducing yields. Rainfall and cooler conditions in November and December helped the vines recover and thrive, with most varieties harvested before the end of March. Tasting Note: Big, bold, and full of flavour, this 2024 Barossa Shiraz pours a deep purple and hits you with rich aromas of blackberry, plum, and a touch of mocha and spice. The palate is generous and smooth, packed with juicy dark fruit, soft tannins, and a lick of oak. It’s full-bodied but balanced, with a long, warm finish that leaves you wanting another sip. Classic Barossa – bold, ripe, and seriously satisfying.

Matured in seasoned French oak for six months before bottling early to maintain freshness. Vintage 2022: A wet spring provided adequate soil moisture going in to the growing season. Windy and rainy conditions during spring resulted in lower than usual crops. The summer months were mild facilitating a long ripening period and excellent tannin, acid and flavour balance in reds. Beautifully perfumed reds with full flavours, an exceptional vintage! Tasting Note: A bright, lifted nose of plush red fruits, chocolate and subtle spices. Cowpunk Amphora Shiraz (6pk)
Region: Orange
Grape Variety: Shiraz
Winemaker: Aaron Mercer
Alcohol: 14%
Pack Size: 6 Bottle Pack Summary: Cowpunk are small batch wines made from single sites, crafted by Aaron Mercer and grown by long term friends and acquaintances. 100% unashamedly natural, Cowpunk is leading the charge for the modern drinker seeking wines made in a hands-off manner but still want complexity and enjoyment. Made by award winning winemaker Aaron Mercer this dynamic brand is organic, vegan, preservative free and features no additions. Winemaking: Harvesting in the cool of night, the fruit was cold soaked for two days prior to undergoing primary fermentation for another ten days prior to pressing. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in clay amphora and some older puncheon. The shape of the clay amphora keeps the wine in constant movement and the porosity of clay between steel and oak allows gentle oxygen contact, building richness and texture, allowing the ample tannins of the wine to resolve while still showing generous fruit the length of the palate. The wine was held for an additional nine months prior to bottling. There was a small addition of sulphur prior to bottling. Tasting Note: This Shiraz has lifted and generous aromas of blackberry, violets, vanilla bean and all-kinds of spice. The palate is soft and mouth-filling with more dark berry fruits and peppery spices. The tannins are soft and beautifully integrated and due to the higher, cooler growing in Orange, the natural acidity in the wine ensures it finishes long and fresh. A great match with many red meat cuisines.

Little Giant Premium Barossa Shiraz (6pk)
More about Little Giant Find a stockist Grape Variety: 100% Shiraz
Region: Barossa Valley Winemaker: Corey Ryan Closure: Screwcap Alcohol: 14.5% Pack Size: 6 Bottle Pack Summary: The southern hairy-nose wombat is smaller than other wombats but is stocky, robust and the proud state emblem of South Australia. Like the might of the little wombat, Little Giant is crafted from premium regional South Australian fruit from established vineyards that deliver character and interest well above their size and weight. Hand-crafted and made with minimal additions and preservatives, these are wines made of the vineyard. The grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, minimally handled in the winery and fruit vibrancy is not hidden by non-essential artefact. Seeking first and foremost fruit expression, drink-ability and to be a great accompaniment to food. Don’t let the size fool you, these are wines you’ll want to drink. Winemaking: Little Giant Shiraz is crafted from fruit sourced from select premium vineyard in the Light Pass region of the Barossa Valley. Picked in the cool of the morning to retain freshness, the fruit is de-stemming and fermented in stainless steel tank. The wine then spent nine months in used large format French and American oak barrels to build structure whilst softening the palate and develop flavour complexity without overt extraction of oak characters. 2023 Vintage: The 2023 Barossa Valley vintage was shaped by a wet spring under the influence of La Niña, with record rainfall in October and November leading to vigorous vine growth and large crops. A dry December provided some balance, but disease pressure required careful management. A notably late harvest, with some picking extending into May, marked one of the latest seasons in recent memory. Tasting Note: Rich and inviting, with aromas of blackberry, warm spice, vanillin oak and dark chocolate. The palate is plush and concentrated, supported by layers of polished tannins that carry through to a long, sumptuous finish. The below information is available for stockists of this product.

Pinch Gut Chocolate Aged Tawny (6pk)
Region: Dominican Republic, barrel aged in Australia Summary: Of the many dark stories from these troubled times none is more notorious than that of convict Francis Morgan, who was executed on Pinchgut island and his skeleton then left to hang for four years. According to folklore, knowing his fate, Morgan told the hangman he was consoled by what would be his magnificent view of the harbour. Today we’re still obsessed with rum but “harbour views to die for” luckily has quite a different meaning Tasting Note: Rich and indulgent, this chocolate-infused Tawny harmonises velvety milk chocolate, toffee, and vanilla with the deep, barrel-aged complexity of the wine. Enticing aromas of creamy cocoa, toasted hazelnut, and caramelized sugar rise from the glass, leading into a smooth, full-bodied palate. Each sip reveals layers of milk chocolate truffle, buttery toffee, and oak laced with a hint of rum, offering depth and warmth. The finish is long and lingering, leaving behind delicate notes of cocoa, caramel, and roasted almond. The below information is available for stockists of this product.
