Summary: Mania is a contemporary expression of winemaking seeking to convey all that is wonderful about cool climate viticulture and the resultant wines. Leveraging friendships built over the years to source parcels of fruit from small growers across the state, and with a minimalistic approach to winemaking seeking purity and natural fruit flavours primarily.
 
Vineyard: The Mania Chardonnay is sourced from a smaller block of young-medium age of vines from the picturesque Tamar Valley. The vineyard is planted to multiple clones have been masterfully blended, contributing nuance and detail to the wine.

Winemaking:  Completely whole bunch pressed to older French barrels before being allowed to ferment naturally using wild yeast. Malolactic fermentation also allowed to being naturally and partially complete. Matured for 12 months in this older oak with intermittent battonage for 3 months post fermentation. 
 

Tasting Note: Lifted fruit aromas and subtle white floral nuance appear to lead into stone fruits, citrus and a fine minerality on the palate. The wine is long, fine and shows beautifully integrated and subtle oak and brown spice characters. This wine is long and refreshing for Chardonnay and will only improve over the coming months in bottle.

Winemaking: The fruit for this wine was hand-picked and hand-sorted. Wild yeast fermented and periodically hand plunged, this is a wine showcasing fruit generosity and vibrancy supported by the gentler handling in the winery. The wine was matured for 10 months in French oak puncheons of which 10% was new. 

Tasting Note: Mania Pinot Noir showcases characteristic Tasmanian brightness and liveliness in the wines. This season showcases red and dark cherry fruit flavour laced with hints of dark spices and a mineral edge to the finish. The palate shows great intensity of flavour in a light to medium weight.
