Bare Winemakers
|
Who are the Bare Winemakers? Is it really a bunch of nude oenophiles or is it a trio of focussed wine-loving individuals with an aim to make precise wines in a hands-off manner? Gladly it’s the latter, and a celebration of wine made in a less-is-more fashion, letting the region do the talking and the wine speak with a sense of place.

In many parts of Australia, it was unseasonably wet in winter but not at critical times to do damage nor impact the resultant ripeness of the grapes. A cool and dry summer meant even ripening was achieved between dry and rainy spells and the ensuing fruit quality was excellent and for once yields were up making for a bumper harvest in 2021. Tasting Note: Dark red in colour with classic Pinot characters to the fore displaying cherry, dark berry and a varietal savoury edge. The wine is supple and long with a good deal of concentration balanced by a clean acidity. Drinking well upon release and will cellar well. Pair with Porchetta with baby lentils.
