One Good Turn Cabernet Sauvignon (6pk)
Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon Summary: One Good Turn are Climate Positive wines. Fruit has been sourced from vineyards choosing to use sustainable practices to achieve great quality while thinking about the environmental impact of modern agriculture and how it can best be harnessed to ensure we continue to give back to the planet. Vineyards: Sourced from sustainable vineyards from around Australia. Winemaking: Fully de-stemmed before fermentation in a mix of open and closed tanks. The wine was primarily vinified without the influence of oak for maximum fruit expression before blending with a component aged in three and four year old French oak. Vintage 2021: If 2020 was all about the heat, then 2021 will be remembered as the wet season. In many parts of Australia, it was unseasonably wet in winter, but not at critical times to do damage nor impact the resultant ripeness of the grapes. A cool and dry summer meant even ripening was achieved between dry and rainy spells and the ensuing fruit quality was excellent and for once yields were up making for a bumper harvest in 2021. Tasting Note: A varietal Cabernet bursting with blackcurrant, a hint of eucalypt and some toasty oak. The palate is plush and generous with red fruits and hints of mocha before a long enjoyable finish that is aided by a soft tannin framework and lively acidity. One Good Turn Chardonnay (6pk)
Grape Variety: Chardonnay Summary: One Good Turn are Climate Positive wines. Fruit has been sourced from vineyards choosing to use sustainable practices to achieve great quality while thinking about the environmental impact of modern agriculture and how it can best be harnessed to ensure we continue to give back to the planet. Vineyards: Sourced from sustainable vineyards from around Australia. Winemaking: Picked partially by hand. The majority of the blend was vinified in stainless steel with high solids and oxidative handling with fifteen barrel fermented with lees stirring. About forty percent was aged in medium toast two and three year old French oak barriques for six months to add complexity before full malolactic fermentation. Vintage 2021: If 2020 was all about the heat, then 2021 will be remembered as the wet season. Vineyards: Sourced from sustainable vineyards from around Australia. Winemaking: Fully de-stemmed before fermentation in a mix of open and closed tanks. Vintage 2022: A La Nina season brought much welcomed rain over the winter months and continued in providing a mild spring and summer. The cooler than average weather during harvest resulted in a longer ripening period which facilitated fragrant and elegant fruits in red wines and a seamless acid and tannin balance. Tasting Note: vibrant red berries jump out of the glass. The palate is rich with raspberry and mulberry fruits, soft tannins frame the fruit. A vibrant Merlot that is sure to be a crowd pleaser! Fruit has been sourced from vineyards choosing to use sustainable practices to achieve great quality while thinking about the environmental impact of modern agriculture and how it can best be harnessed to ensure we continue to give back to the planet. As the saying goes “One Good Turn” deserves another and so for every bottle purchased we will contribute to Carbon Click – a climate positive organisation that donates to worthy environmental causes that are close to our heart. Vineyards: Sourced from sustainable vineyards from around Australia. Winemaking: Partially hand before de-stemming and fermentation in a combination of two tonne open fermenters with ten percent whole bunch and twice daily hand plunging and larger closed fermenters with pump overs. A majority of the juice was matured in stainless steel while a portion underwent time in French oak. Vintage 2022: 2022 will probably be remembered as wet in most parts of Australia. However, in inland vineyards the rain did not hinder, rather it helped vines stay healthy and created favourable conditions for a modest and favourable crop across much of the country. Overall, quality was up but yields were down. Tasting Note: Awash with red berry intensity with just a touch of earthiness. Winemaking: Hand picked into small bins and chilled before transportation to the winery, A very fast and precise vinification with a cool fermentation in stainless steel before extended maturation on lees to build texture and complexity. Vintage 2022: 2022 will probably be remembered as wet in most parts of Australia. However, in inland vineyards the rain did not hinder, rather it helped vines stay healthy and created favourable conditions for a modest and favourable crop across much of the country. Overall, quality was up but yields were down. Tasting Note: Easy drinking and popular blend of two aromatic white varieties that make the quintessential Australian white blend. The nose is alive with citrus and passionfruit with hints of cut herbs. The palate delivers on the aromas with a core of lemony fruit and super fresh acidity. A great match to Sushi or Sashimi. Vineyards: Sourced from sustainable vineyards from around Australia. Winemaking: The fruit is partially hand harvested before de-stemming and cool fermentation in small two tonne open fermenters with regular hand plunging. Matured in seasoned French oak for 6 months before bottling with minimal filtration. Vintage 2022: A wet spring provided adequate soil moisture going in to the growing season. Windy and rainy conditions during spring resulted in lower than usual crops. The summer months were mild facilitating a long ripening period and excellent tannin, acid and flavour balance in reds. Beautifully perfumed reds with full flavours, an exceptional vintage! Tasting Note: A typical Shiraz that shows generosity and flavour. Packed with red and blackberry fruit with a subtle oak influence. The palate is full of blueberry, plum and nuanced chocolate with a spicy finish.
