La Noblesse Cabernet Franc 2019

12th November 2020

"Noblesse oblige? This is a new offering from Fourth Wave Wine, who sniff out trends pretty well. Wasn’t expecting much, but very pleasantly surprised. Quelle surprise!

It’s quite ripe, but that’s no bad thing. Here we have dark raspberry and blackcurrant, a smattering of dried herb, tobacco and leaf, but that’s an undercurrent, more than the theme. It’s medium-bodied, fine chalk dust tannin gives it a bit of traction, raspberry juiciness, with dried herb lending a pleasant sort of bitterness, kind of like radicchio. Oh, and pencils. Nice drink here. A bit of difference."
