Wild Folk Nero d'Avola 2021

21st January 2022
Slurpable and silky... 90 Points

"Another in the new(ish) label range for the Fourth Wave Wine team. Made by usual suspect collaborator Corey Ryan. Made with no added sulphites, wild yeast fermentation from organic vineyards. Bottled unfiltered and unfined. Vegan friendly. DIAM cork (and a wax seal).

Deep garnet and bright rim. Stainless steel fermentation preserves the fruit forward style. Plentiful berry compote with fresh turned earth, licorice, deep cabbage rose, milk chocolate and black tea. Slurpable and silky with a dark savoury base. Sharp, youthful acidity and an easy tannic grip. A match for any tomato/meaty ragu pasta."
