Woods Crampton The Big Show 2014

"It’s Shiraz (68%) and Mataro, and apparently sold out ex-winery, but seems to be still available at retail. 533 cases made.

Has a pretty sweet floral smell that’s almost like Manuka honey, also some dried herb, spice, blood plum and blackberry with maybe some char-grilled meat. It’s medium bodied, with the minority Mataro taking a leadership position with new leather, dried herb and meaty flavours. There’s light soft tannin, even acidity, and a clean finish. It’s very easy to drink, but also offers complexity and a point of difference."
