Bertaine Pinot Noir 2016

Drinks well all the way to the bottom of the bottle...90 Points

"It’s made with shiraz and it’s from France’s Aude Valley. It’s part of the Fourth Wave stable. It’s a pale copper colour and it takes a bit of coaxing, but before you know it, you’re reaching for your third glass. It just gets the pitch right. It’s dry and textural with blackcurrant bud and spice notes, though all you really need to know is that it feels well balanced, responds well to both a chill and a little bit of air, and because it hasn’t been sucker-punched with (too much) sweetness, it drinks well all the way to the bottom of the bottle."
