Il Villaggio Nero D'Avola 2017
5th June 2018
"More great packaging from the chaps at Fourth Wave. Organically grown in Sicily. Nero d’Avola rarely achieves greatness, most often its utility is realized as affordable, and tasty drinking wine. No problem with that for me, and it’s a grape I enjoy for exactly that reason.
Black cherry, a little fresh herb (almost grassiness), some trademark chocolate liquorice bullets too. It’s light to medium-bodied, perky in its freshness, cherry, fresh strawberry and spice, light grainy tannin, and an even finish of modest, yet satisfactory length. Has vigour and drinkability. I’d go this. It’s good."
