Altacena Tempranillo Shiraz 2016

8th June 2018
Always packed with personality...

"The full name is Altacena Vino Tinto Vino de la Tierra de Castilla Tempranillo. It’s always packed with personality. With a name as long as that, it would want to. Personally I really enjoy drinking this. It’s $16 well spent. It’s dry and gamey, meaty even, with toasty black cherry and gun smoke characters. It smells of firecrackers and tastes of them too, though the latter is a bit of guess, though an educated one. The finish will be just a little too drying for some but then, again, that’s part of why I enjoy it. It’s not staid. It lines up for food. It’s good."
