Woods Crampton White Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
15th January 2020

"The back label says “When the vintage conditions suit, Barossa Cabernet is as good as it gets”. Suitably ambiguous statement I’d say, perhaps worthy of ‘Yes Minister’. I have a Mr Latour, from the French Embassy on line one… 550 cases made, which is probably about 19,500 less than many cru classé on the Left Bank.
Black fruit, sage and baking spices, dark chocolate and tea leaf. Medium-bodied, sweet dark fruit, cherry juice, saltbush and cocoa, supple tannin, raisin-like cut to the acidity, and a pretty long finish. Goes all right, I’d say."
