Woods Crampton White Label Riesling 2019
16th January 2020
"I’m not quite sure what went on in the Eden Valley in 2019, with regards to Riesling. Unlike other years, I don’t quite have the measure of it, as such. I’ve probably dropped the ball a little recently. Anyway.
Even as a young wine, there’s a high-toned kerosene character to this one. It’s OK as at now, complexity it brings, but I’d be reluctant to cellar it for too long. Aside that, lime, spice and white flowers, a general juiciness and ease of drinking, lime rind and a subtle chalkiness, solid and flavoursome to close. It’s a good drink as at now."
