Summary: The Hero wines are hand-crafted from the best quality fruit sourced from premium vineyards across South Australia, including McLaren Vale and the Barossa. With meticulous handling in the vineyard and winery, the pristine fruit will have less exposure to anything harmful that may normally require the addition of preservatives. Our wines are crafted to be brightly coloured, exotically fragrant, full-flavoured and critically, they sing without the addition of preservatives. Perfectly suited to many cuisines, these wines are also crafted to ensure they are suitable for Vegans.

 

Winemaking: Healthy and problem free fruit is selected in the vineyard  and then picked in the cool of thenight and then rushed to the nearby winery for a fast and focused vinification. Fermentation is cool in a closed static fermenter before a short maturation on lees and bottling. 

 

2022 Vintage: 2022 will probably be remembered as wet in most parts of Australia. However, in inland vineyards the rain did not hinder, rather it helped vines stay healthy and created favourable conditions for a modest and favourable crop across much of the country. Overall quality was up but yields were down. 

 

 

Tasting Note: Dark garnet in colour displaying attractive red fruit aromatics with a pronounced raspberry note showing earthy and gentle spice notes. This is a fresh easy drinking style bottled immediately to capture the essence of the variety. On the palate it's bright with fruit purity showing a good intensity and balanced by cleansing acids. Pair with steak sandwich with Dijon mustard.
