Summary: The southern hairy-nose wombat is smaller than other wombats but is stocky, robust and the proud state emblem of South Australia. Like the might of the little wombat, Little Giant is crafted from premium regional South Australian fruit from established vineyards that deliver character and interest well above their size and weight. 

Hand-crafted and made with minimal additions and preservatives, these are wines made of the vineyard. The grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, minimally handled in the winery and fruit vibrancy is not hidden by non-essential artifact. Seeking first and foremost fruit expression, drinkability and to be a great accompaniment to food. Don’t let the size fool you, these are wines you’ll want to drink. 

Winemaking: Sourced from premium Adelaide Hills vineyard, fruit for this Gris was crushed and then left for three hours on skins before pressing to achieve desirable phenolics and texture. It was fermented cool and then matured on yeast lees for 7 months in stainless steel to encourage mid palate texture.

2023 Vintage: Cooler than usual in 2023 and rain events from early spring delayed the vintage. Through great vineyard management and smaller yields combined with enough sunny ripening days the vintage finished late but strongly. The wines will be marked by fesh and vibrant acidity and nuanced, complex fruit character.  

Tasting Note: Light straw in colour with a pale hue. The lifted aromas are characterised by citrus, green pear and citrus blossom. This is a mouth-filling wine with the palate exhibiting pear, white stone fruit and very subtle fresh cut herbs. The freshness of the acidity drives a very long finish and ensures it remains crisp and fresh. Perfect with fresh seafood, chicken and pork dishes.
