Summary: Mania is a contemporary expression of winemaking seeking to convey all that is wonderful about cool climate viticulture and the resultant wines. Leveraging friendships built over the years to source parcels of fruit from small growers across the state, and with a minimalistic approach to winemaking seeking purity and natural fruit flavours primarily.  

Winemaking: The fruit for this wine was hand-picked and hand-sorted. Wild yeast fermented and periodically hand plunged, this is a wine showcasing fruit generosity and vibrancy supported by the gentler handling in the winery. The wine was matured for 10 months in French oak puncheons of which 10% was new. 

2022 Vintage: The season in Tasmania for the Mania vineyards was predominantly warm days and cooling nights. Two rain events on top of pretty marginal growing conditions extended the season and took longer to achieve optimal ripeness. The resultant wines are complex and lively!

Tasting Note: Mania Pinot Noir showcases characteristic Tasmanian brightness and liveliness in the wines. This season showcases red and dark cherry fruit flavour laced with hints of dark spices and a mineral edge to the finish. The palate shows great intensity of flavour in a light to medium weight.
