Summary: Crate is a highly sustainable, eco-friendly wine brand that focusses on the wine, not the packaging with a label free approach and case only (6pk) purchase option. High quality, barrel matured wines from some of Australia's leading red wine regions, Crate offers exceptional value and a zero waste approach.

Winemaking: Premium Shiraz sourced from notable old vine Barossa vineyards. Grapes were crushed and de-stemmed then transferred to tank. Fermented over a ten day period with regular pumpovers to aid colour and tannin extraction from the skins. After being pressed the wine was transferred to oak for a minimum of 12 months.

Vintage 2021: An exceptional vintage with ideal growing conditions and outstanding quality fruit! A later start to the vintage due to a mild summer facilitating a longer ripening period and a lovely balance in red wines. The cooler than average summer resulted in lifted aromatics and bold flavours even throughout the flats of the McLaren Vale.

Tasting Note: Bright red berry fruit aromatics jump out of the glass. Raspberry, mulberry and cherry aromas. The palate is rich with red currants and raspberry liquorice. Oak supports the fruit offering structure but still allowing the bright fruited flavours to shine. A classic McLaren Vale Shiraz with all the intrigue of premium shiraz packaged in to a cleanskin. Pair with Lamb ragout and pappardelle pasta.
