Summary: Tread Softly is a contemporary range of wines seeking to deliver delicious, intensely flavoured wines that are naturally medium weighted and moderate in alcohol. By using more sustainable vineyard management and wine-making techniques to ensure their production has had a minimal impact to the environment. Tread Softly is committed to reducing their carbon footprint and so commits to planting an Australian Native Tree for every 6pk sold.

Vineyards: Fruit for the Tread Softly premium range was Sourced from established vineyards of the Coldstream sub region of the Yarra Valley.

Winemaking: A fine example of a structured single vineyard Rose that is made up of a few varieties but primarily Sangiovese. The wine was crushed and then steeped on the skins for three hours to lend colour prior to a cool ferment.

2021 Vintage: In terms of the 2021 vintage, Spring 2020 was warm and wet, with enough bursts of sunshine to ensure the best flowering and fruit in 3 years. Consistent fruit set matched with plentiful ground water led to vigorous canopy development an large crops. The possibility of disease hung heavy especially after large amounts of rainfall in January and the quality of the vintage was in the balance. However, an auspicious change in conditions led to a two-month run of glorious weather that saw warm days, cold nights and elongated ripening. In terms of quality, tannin concentration and ripeness will be the hallmark of 2021. 

Tasting Note: Bright and vibrant nose and a seductively blushing colour that makes it look immediately inviting in the glass. Very pretty fruit palate showing hints of strawberries and cranberries with a lick of tannins and a nice dry finish and a refreshing burst of acidity. Pair with a salad nicoise.
